Aside from Thai food, which I love and have not been able to have much of it when going out to eat with a toddler, the highlight of the trip was the visit to Jatujak. Sure it was hot, it was quite crowded, and the market place was so big that you can walk the entire day visiting each stall and not finish. But it was a lot of fun to shop at Jatujak...surprisingly more fun than my shopping trip afterwards at the Siam Paragon. I started early to beat the post-lunch crowd (it gets even more crazy after lunch), and with the help of Ms. Pornphan from the Sylvanian Families World facebook group, I was able to zero-in and locate the miniatures stalls within the spacious weekend market.
I had the opportunity to go to Bangkok recently with the hubby, and this time we did not take our little girl along for the holiday. So, yes! I would be able to go to Jatujak weekend market (imagine dragging a toddler through a crowded market and expecting her to stay by your side while you shift through items to buy), and hunt for some miniature dollhouse items which my Sylvanians can use. I was lucky enough to arrive in Bangkok by Saturday evening, which meant that I can still go to Jatujak on Sunday since the weekend market is, well, closed during weekdays. Missbunny also travelled with me to Bangkok. Here is a picture of her with a miniature mahjong set that I bought from the market. After one try, Missbunny concluded that she like playing mahjong.

So happy (and a little stressed.....just a teeny weeny bit) to receive my shipment of Sylvanian Families goodies. I was finally able to complete my JP Beagle Dog family. There was also a Hello Kitty traditional sentō (Japanese bathhouse) that I could not resist to get, and they are at the right scale for Sylvanian Families.
The stressful part is how to store these additional items in my house. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a way somehow. Hope I will be able to take photos soon of my latest goodies and share with you all here. |
About MeI like to experiment with photography and dabble in crafty things. I started collecting Sylvanian Families in 2009 and hope that someday my little daughter will enjoy playing and collecting Sylvanian Families as much as I do. Archives
